I completed my undergraduate degree in Nursing and a diploma in Information Technology in the Philippines. At first, I dreamed of becoming a flight attendant, but my hope was always to come to Canada, work hard, and build a better life for myself. Although I didn’t have family here, I had a few friends in British Columbia and Alberta.
Before coming to Canada, I worked in Hong Kong as a live-in nanny for three years, caring for three children—aged three, eighteen months, and a newborn. I also managed household responsibilities with a different family.
Through an agency, I was introduced to Galit’s family and had my first interview over WhatsApp. This was my first experience working with children with special needs, and while I was both nervous and excited, I saw it as an opportunity to learn.
When I first arrived, it was challenging to adjust to different behaviors and expectations, but over time, I learned the importance of patience, flexibility, and empathy. Working with Benji and Giulietta has taught me so much about understanding, compassion, and celebrating small victories.
Now, after three years, I’m proud of the strong relationship we’ve built. I can truly see myself continuing to grow and working with Benji and Giulietta in the future.
