Hello! My name is Myles.
Hello! My name is Myles.

I completed my Bachelor’s degree in Nursing in the Philippines and have always dreamed of working as a nurse. Before coming to Canada, I worked in Hong Kong as a live-in caregiver, where I gained experience caring for young children and managing a household.

A few years later, I applied for a childcare worker position in Canada and came across the opportunity to work with Galit and her children. I was excited because it meant I could work with kids while also using my nursing background since they had complex needs. I didn’t have experience with children with disabilities at the time, but I was curious and eager to learn how to support their growth in a meaningful way.

When I first met Galit over Zoom, she shared photos of her children and told me all about them, and I immediately started imagining what life with them would be like.

Fast forward eight years, and I’m still here—I truly can’t imagine life without them.

Over the years, my role has changed. I’m no longer just a live-in caregiver—I’ve also become an educator. I love being involved in many parts of Benji and Giulietta’s lives, helping them grow and celebrating their accomplishments. I also enjoy learning from other professionals in different fields and finding ways to apply what I learn to support Benji and Giulietta.

Working with Benji and Giulietta has been such a rewarding journey. It’s helped me grow personally and professionally, and every day brings new challenges and opportunities to make a difference. I feel so lucky to be a part of their lives.
